Behind the Scenes: Railroad Museum of New England

This weekend I had shoots with 4 groups of folks for the Chronotography book. Sunday was the larger of the two days, with 7 models.  Thankfully the Railroad Museum of New England (Website | Facebook | Twitter) allowed us access to the property for most of the day. We spent the day in, on, and around the trains for some great…

Chronotography Shoot: Red Fork Citizens

Today I’m out in the “untamed wilds” of Conneticuit with several members of the Red Fork Empire for their portion of the Chronotography Shoot. We have (almost) free reign of a train yard, props, and boundless energy due to the gift of Dunkin’.  Some behind the scenes photos and video will be taken, and the…

Chronotography Shoot: Leah Siren

Probably by the time this posts (yay post scheduling!), I will be out with Leah Siren working on her section of the book! The two of us have worked together many times before, with Leah wearing the styles of Redfield Design (as seen below). Today we’ll be in Worcester in a beautiful white Victorian-Inspired outfit…

Weekend Update: 2 Days, 4 Shoots!

This weekend I will be in Massachusetts and Connecticut doing photo sessions for the Chronotography book! Those who have pledged $10 and above will be getting behind-the-scenes Polaroids, and there should be some behind the scenes video taken as well for the public. In this lineup, we have: – Designer & Model – Redfield Design – Model…

Photographing the Imaginary: Newt Scamander & More

If you’ve seen or read Fantastic Beasts, you know that Newt Scamander is a pleasantly awkward, inquisitive character who is always up for an adventure to rescue “his” animals or those he deems it’s his responsibility to protect.  When working with this image, I wanted to show that Newt was doing something possibly dangerous while remaining…

Photographing the Imaginary: Vladimir Snape & Evercrumbly & Witch

If you’re familiar with my photography, then you well know that I love the post processing part.  And at MISTI-Con, I was well able to stretch my imagination by utilizing a seamless black background, some gels, and great models. This week on my stream Photographing the Imaginary, I was able to show off how to get from…

First Shoot: Redfield Design

This coming weekend, I will be doing the first shoot for the Chronotography book, with designer Redfield Design and Infernal Machine Manufactories. You’ve seen me take more pictures of the designs than the designer, so I’m really glad to have a session that will to light her and well as her talent! [Please note: Please only take…

More added to MISTI-Con Gallery!

Don’t follow Babs Who Takes Pictures? Well you’re madder than Xenophilius Lovegood not to, if you’re waiting for the next batch of photos! Another 177 photos have been uploaded, bringing the gallery up to 813. Don’t see yours yet? It will be up soon!

MISTI-Con – A Harry Potter Event

This past weekend I took some time to myself and enjoyed the nice, long trip to Laconia, NH to go to MISTI-Con, a Harry Potter cosplay event.  This was my first purposeful trip into New Hampshire (I get absurdly lost sometimes) and I fell in love with the scenic trip so much that I was…

Looking for Updates?

You don’t need to don your hunting gear for that! (Especially in this new heat!  Keep the Starks away, we don’t want winter anytime soon!) If you’re wondering what’s happening with the photo book, the photo sessions start at the end of this month!  Once the sessions begin, the blog will have more behind the…

Working with the Community

Every now and then I get to work with a pair of actors from the National Theater for Children.  I’ll be following this duo through part of May, between sessions for Chronotography and MISTI-Con. If you’re in Long Island, we should be in your kid’s school! Keep an eye out!

What do you mean the weekend is over?

This is what happens when you tell the Fæ that Humans can only experience time once, and not go back to experience things, but through memory and photos.  See? They’re very upset by this. Want to relive the weekend, or see things you missed the first time around?  You may visit my gallery here (Website…
